The reason that I chose the butterfly collar as the cover of the book, is because the butterfly was once a totally different creature. However, with metamorphosis and time, it was allowed to develop into the beautiful creature that it has became for us to enjoy. I have done the same for Steven. As you will quickly see, the once naive Katelyn in the beginning of the novel, is not the same in the end. I have transformed throughout just like that butterfly. Notice the symbolism. (Hint, hint)
Ball Gag
If I have talked too much or I am being too loud, Steven will put a ball gag in my mouth to shut me up. There are different kinds. This one will muffle sounds< but there are also ones that will force your mouth to stay open. He will sometimes use this while discipling me, but he will watch my reactions because I have then lost the ability to speak.
Flogger
When I am misbehaving or just plain bratty, Sir gives me an attitude adjustment with this Glass and Suede flogger. The sting of these leather straps as they strike my skin at different split second intervals are intense enough that it only takes a few stern hits until I am begging Master for mercy and forgiveness. The handle is thick! He will have ice water on standby for when I am ready to offer my apologies and dip the handle into the ice water before applying it to my welts--the welts that he only moments before placed on my body as I hang in the shackles defenseless crying. It helps to ease the bruising and swelling. Depending on the nature of the crime I committed, he will even braid the leather straps to intensify the wallop upon my completely submissive body. My flogger has "Smith" engraved on it. It is beautiful, but the prickling of the thrashes leaves your body feeling every single heartbeat for what seems to be hours.

Holey Heart Paddle
